Easy meal idea

One of my favorite things to eat is….well, I don’t know what to call it.

Basically, it consists of :

Low protien pasta (I use loprofin brand)

Frozen peas and corn

Catalina dressing

I just boil up the pasta, throw in the peas and corn at the last minute or two and then strain it and add Catalina dressing. It’s easy, tasty and includes a carb as well as a vegetable.

  1. Yeah I have to really limit my protein intake because I have an inborn error in metabolizing one of the amino acids in protein. I eat rice and vegetables and fruit. I have low-protein pasta, as you gathered. I can have white bread and chips and rice/corn cereals. I use non-dairy creamer on my cereal. I also drink a formula to supplement my diet. It has all the amino-acids and vitamins and minerals I need.

Hope that answers your question! Look around, and there should be more information.

  2. Wow, I don’t really understand PKU exactly but from my understanding its a low protein diet. That must be extremely difficult. I will have to try this meal idea out.

  3. I did not know that they made low protein noodles. I will have to look for them at the store. I bet it was hard at first to find things that you liked that would not be an inconvience. This all sounds really interesting.
